Summer Camp at BedRock
3 Months to 5 Years
Summer days at BedRock are filled with fun, laughter and “messy” hands-on activities! We want kids to just be kids and simply have fun while learning. The Summer Program at BedRock Preschool is an opportunity for children ages 3 months to 5 years of age to participate in a curriculum that incorporates math, science, discovery, language arts, literature, sensory integration and creative arts. Children will participate in a developmentally appropriate and balanced daily schedule that will allow them to be creative and challenged while having fun. Our summer program is an extension of the regular school year with additional time spent outdoors.

Each week, children explore a new theme that sparks creativity and curiosity—ranging from Water and Dinosaurs to BedRock Olympics and Ooey Gooey Fun. Themes incorporate elements of science, art, music, and movement. Children will also help care for our vegetable and herb garden, building on last summer’s harvest of tomatoes, squash, basil, and more.
Being active is essential to your child’s health, and we make the most of our outdoor playground whenever weather permits. Please dress your child appropriately for the day’s conditions and ensure they have a complete, seasonally appropriate change of clothes in their cubby at all times.

Summer Health & Safety:
During periods of high heat and humidity, children are at greater risk for heat-related illness and may have a lower tolerance for outdoor activity. To support the health and safety of all children and staff, please follow the guidance below:
- Limit outdoor activities between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, especially strenuous play or prolonged time in direct sunlight
- Move high-energy activities indoors to air-conditioned spaces whenever possible
- Encourage children to drink water frequently and ensure water is easily accessible throughout the day
- Closely monitor children with chronic conditions, such as asthma or diabetes, or those recovering from illness, as they may be more vulnerable to heat-related illness
Be alert for symptoms of heat-related illness. Call 911 immediately if a child or staff member experiences:
- Hot, dry skin or cold, clammy skin
- Trouble breathing
- Rapid heartbeat
- Confusion, disorientation, or dizziness
- Nausea or vomiting
