About Our FREE DOE Programs:
BedRock Preschool is proud to offer FREE NYC Department of Education (DOE) 2K, 3K, and 4K programs, providing children with a strong foundation for learning, social development, and kindergarten readiness.
Our DOE programs combine a nurturing preschool environment with engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences designed to support the whole child.
NEW! FREE DOE 2K Program
We are excited to welcome our youngest learners through the NYC DOE 2K program beginning in Fall 2026.
2K provides free early childhood education for eligible two-year-old children. For Fall 2026, children born in 2024 are eligible to apply. Families apply through the NYC DOE's official MySchools system, and program availability and admissions priorities are determined by NYC Public Schools.

*In most cases, children must be 2 years old to begin a 2-K program on the first day of school. Children who turn 2 later in the year may receive a pending offer to start at a later date.*

A Special Visit to Kick Off Our 2K Program
We were thrilled to welcome distinguished guests, including Governor Hochul, Mayor Mamdani, Chancellor Samuels, and State Senator Rivera, and distinguished city and state officials to BedRock Preschool for the official launch celebration of the new DOE 2K program! The visit marked an exciting milestone as we prepare to welcome our youngest learners and expand access to early childhood education in our community. We are incredibly proud to be part of this important initiative and excited for all that lies ahead for BedRock Preschool.

Our DOE Program Hours
3K and 4K students are in attendance from 8:30am to 2:50pm Monday to Friday. 2K students also begin at 8:30am, but have extended hours until 5:30pm & 6:30pm giving children additional time to learn, play, socialize, and participate in the BedRock experience.
Need More Flexibility? We've Got You Covered!
We know every family's schedule is different. That's why BedRock offers additional before- and after-school options for families who need extended hours.
- EARLY BIRD — 7:30 AM Drop-Off
Need an earlier start to your day? Our Early Bird program provides families with the option to drop off their child as early as 7:30 AM for an additional fee. - NIGHT OWL — Pick-Up Until 6:30 PM*
Need a little more time at the end of the day? Our Night Owl program extends pick-up until 6:30 PM for an additional fee. - AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM- 2:50-5:30 PM (*For 3K and 4K only.)
Families enrolled in DOE 3K and 4K can also take advantage of our optional extended-day programs, including Early Bird drop-off from 7:30 AM, After School from 2:50–5:30 PM, and Night Owl late pick-up from 5:30–6:30 PM.
Families may choose Early Bird, Night Owl, or both programs based on their individual schedules.

How Do I Apply?
Families interested in DOE 2K, 3K, or 4K programs must apply through the NYC DOE MySchools application system.
The DOE determines eligibility, admissions priorities, and placement. We encourage families to create a MySchools account and review their child's eligibility and available program options during the appropriate admissions period.

How can I learn more about BedRock?
We invite families to attend one of our virtual tours to learn more about BedRock, our programs, daily schedule, and admissions process. Also include that during this hr long tour the directors will cover a lot of information hours, curriculum, staff qualification and trainings, assessment tools, health and safety protocols, etc… we highly encourage all families to attend a tour prior to applying. (mention that we then offer monthly in-person tours to see the school)

What if I am wait listed at BedRock Preschool?
If you are wait listed at BedRock and would like to remain interested in a future opening, please email FrontDesk@BedRockPreschool.com to let us know.
Families interested in enrolling mid-year are especially encouraged to stay in touch, as DOE wait lists may eventually no longer be accessible to us. BedRock maintains an internal wait list based on families who communicate their continued interest directly with the school. This allows us to contact you if an appropriate opening becomes available.
