Summer Camp

Summer days at BedRock are filled with fun, laughter and “messy” hands-on activities! We want kids to just be kids and simply have fun while learning. The Summer Program at BedRock Preschool is an opportunity for children ages 3 months to 5 years of age to participate in a curriculum that incorporates math, science, discovery, language arts, literature, sensory integration and creative arts.  Children will participate in a developmentally appropriate and balanced daily schedule that will allow them to be creative and challenged while having fun.  Our summer program is an extension of the regular school year with additional time spent outdoors.

Weekly themes are designed to nurture the child’s individual spirit of adventure and creativity. Weekly themes include Water, Above the Ocean / Below the Sea, Ooey Gooey Fun, Camping, Air Pressure & Bubbles, Lets go to the Zoo, BedRock Olympics, and Dinosaurs. Many of these themes incorporate physics, chemistry, biology, pattern discovery and sorting objects, measuring, visual arts, music and dance. We will also have a vegetable and herb garden, which the children will tend throughout the summer. Last year we grew tomatoes, squash, zucchini, basil, rosemary and chives. We hope to grow more vegetables and herbs this summer.

Additional special events are planned throughout the summer such as themed Fridays-Silly Hat Day, Pajama Day, Mismatched Day, and Backwards Day. Our Jumping Castle adds to the fun and then to cool off on those hot summer days, sprinklers are set up on our outdoor play area. The children Love water play!  The summer program also includes yoga and music. Mandarin and Spanish lessons are centered around learning simple words describing objects in which the children are familiar. Super Soccer Stars and Critter Caravan, one-on-one piano lessons are scheduled for an additional cost.

During our summer program, parents will receive electronic daily notes, curriculum information, pictures and videos from your child's teachers.  Lots to do at camp this summer! We welcome your family to BedRock.

Being active is a key component of good health for all children.  Please make sure to dress your child accordingly for the occasion and local weather conditions.  We require parents to keep a complete, seasonally adjusted change of clothing in your child’s cubby.

We use the outdoor playground on all but the coldest and hottest days, so please make sure your child comes dressed appropriately.
